Getting started as a seller

This guide walks you through selling on Graded Prompts end to end — from creating your seller account, to publishing your first prompt, to getting paid.

Become a seller

Selling on Graded Prompts is governed by the Seller Agreement — accepting it is what turns an account into a seller account. There's no application or waiting list; review happens per prompt, not per seller.

  • New to Graded Prompts? Register here on the portal. You accept the Seller Agreement as part of sign-up, so you can start creating straight away.
  • Already have a marketplace account? Log in to the portal with the same email — you'll be asked to accept the Seller Agreement, and your account is upgraded on the spot. Your marketplace login, library, and purchases are unaffected.

Create your first prompt

Open Create New from the sidebar. The wizard has four steps:

  1. Basics & Discovery — title, description, prompt type (text, image, or video), category, tags, and the AI model your prompt targets.
  2. Template & Configuration — the prompt template itself, usage instructions, and any model parameters. Mark the parts buyers should customise as variables.
  3. Examples — real outputs you generated with the prompt. Buyers see these first and our reviewers verify them, so use genuine, representative results.
  4. Publish — set your price and visibility, choose your promotion preferences, and submit.

Your prompt is saved as a draft from the first step onwards — you can leave at any point and pick it up later from My Prompts.

Review: how your prompt goes live

Hitting Publish doesn't make your prompt live — it submits it for review, and you'll see it as Pending Review in My Prompts. Every prompt, free or paid, is reviewed by a person before publication: we check that the listing is accurate, that the instructions are clear and every variable is explained, and we run the prompt on its target model to verify your examples are genuine. It's the same process behind the Graded badge buyers see — the full breakdown is in How we grade.

  • Approved — your prompt is published automatically and appears on the marketplace. No further action needed.
  • Rejected — you'll get an email, and the reason appears on the prompt's page in My Prompts.

Need to change something while it's still in review? Use Move to draft on the prompt's card in My Prompts, make your edits, and publish again.

If your prompt is rejected

Rejections aren't final — the rejection reason tells you exactly what to fix:

  1. Open the prompt in My Prompts. The reason is shown at the top of its page.
  2. Click Edit to reopen the wizard.
  3. Address the feedback, then go through the Publish step again. That resubmits it for a fresh review.

The most common issues are examples that can't be reproduced by the prompt, unclear instructions or unexplained variables, listings that don't match what the prompt actually does, and content that breaches our policies.

After you're live

  • Your prompt appears in marketplace search, browse, and category pages, and on your public seller profile.
  • It's automatically included in platform promotions — the site-wide sales we run from time to time. You control this per prompt; see Platform Promotions.
  • Want homepage placement? Read the Spotlight & Featured guide.
  • Buyers can message you — watch the Inbox in the navbar for unread messages.

Earnings and payouts

Every sale shows up on your Earnings page: revenue over time, per-prompt performance, and each individual transaction with its gross amount, Margin, and net amount.

  • Your share. Graded Prompts resells your prompts and pays you Net Revenue — the sale price minus the platform Margin. The standard Margin is 15%, so you receive 85% of each sale. Full details are in the Seller Agreement.
  • Hold period. Each sale is held for a period after purchase before it becomes eligible for payout — this protects everyone against refunds.
  • Getting paid. Connect a payout account under Onboarding — payouts are made via Stripe. Once your eligible balance reaches $30, it's included in the next payout run; smaller balances simply carry over. See Supported payout countries for where payouts are available.
  • Refunds. If a buyer is refunded, that sale's earnings are reversed before payout.

You don't need to finish payout onboarding before selling — your prompts can be published and earning while you set it up. You just need a connected account before anything can be paid out.

Common questions

Do I need to connect Stripe before publishing?

No. Publishing and earning don't require a payout account — only receiving payouts does. Sales made before you finish onboarding are kept on your balance and processed once you're set up.

What can I charge for a prompt?

A prompt can be free, or priced between $2.99 and $9.99 in $0.50 steps.

How many prompts can I list?

There's no limit on published prompts. There is a cap on how many unpublished prompts — drafts, pending review, or rejected — you can have at once, so finish or delete old drafts if you hit it.

Where do buyers find my prompts?

On the Graded Prompts marketplace — in search results, browse and category pages, and on your public seller profile, which lists everything you've published.
